Meet Your Farmers
Owner-7 Acres Homestead
Director of Farm to Table Program
Dawn Trammell
7 Acres Homestead's goal is to provide fresh healthy farm products to the community and to also be a teacher and collaborator for others looking to live this self sufficient lifestyle. Dawn has been married to husband Tim for 43 years and has 4 grown children and 6 grandchildren. We have been homesteaders for 4 years. Our homestead tries to be as chemical free as we can and do not use chemical fertilizers or herbicides. They also do not give any of our animals antibiotics, hormones or vaccines.
Owner-Cackleberry Hills
Kimberly Hill
Howdy y'all!
I’m joining in to offer local goodies from our small farm, the cottage kitchen, and eggs from my coop “Cackleberry Hills”. I dabble in a little of a lot of things homemade & homegrown, and sometimes take requests. I enjoy canning, baking, dehydrating goods, gardening, and many of my ingredients come from our garden or other local producers. My favorite hobby is raising chickens that lay an array of unique egg colors.
When we have BEEF goods available from our family business Hill Brothers’ Cattle, you may see those listed as well. Often we have Soup Bones, Raw Tallow packs, beef livers and other offal in stock. I love making homemade beef broth, and the farm pups enjoy soup bones as a treat too. Typically we sell our pastured beef by the Half or Whole animal portion. If smaller portions or cuts come available, you may see those offered when available.
Owner-Pond Creek Meadows
Jack and Shea Foster
We are Jack and Shea Foster, owners of Pond Creek Meadows in Quitman, TX. This has been
the family farm since 1977. Lots of fun, fishing and family gatherings! In 2020, we decided be
full time farmers and share "the fruits of our labor".
We grow hydroponics strawberries, blueberries, microgreens and seasonal produce. We never
spray any chemical pesticides or herbicides. We use our own compost from the farm to
fertilize anything grown in the field.
We also raise Nigerian Dwarf goats. Their milk is some of the richest milk around! Our goat
milk lotions and soaps are made using our raw goats milk. Bonus: baby goats are just the
cutest thing ever!
Owner-Catalina Acres
Melissa Ronquillo Mijares
Our family moved to East Texas from the DFW area in July of 2020. We needed a change of pace after we lost our baby girl, Catalina, that February. Our farm is named after her. Our goal is to honor her memory by providing farm fresh products for ourselves and our community.
Owner-Killian's Farm
Kitrina and Larry Killian
We are a veteran family homestead and cottage bakery that provides a farm to table opportunity that is grown as close to nature with rotational and companion planting. We pride ourselves in eliminating chemicals within our homestead and focus to give natures best to our products. Our farm consists of quail, goats, kune kune pigs, chickens, ducks and turkey’s and three kiddos. We look forward to serving you with a product that is truly farm to table!
Owner's-Our Refuge Farm
Candi and Bill Fry
Herbs and natural healing are one of our passions. This passion comes from a desire to overcome some health issues we personally struggle with. We started with creating the apiary at Our Refuge Farms, so we could exchange sugar for honey. As I (Candice) dug deeper into not just the health benefits of honey; I also started to study herbal teas. Many of our family and friends received gifts of the teas we now sell. It was with their loving encouragement that we created Honey Tea.
Each package of Honey Tea is prayed over as it is being created. We speak blessings and health over both the product and the consumers.
Blessings,
Bill & Candice
